Each painting is individually commissioned to capture
the character and atmosphere of a home or landscape— offering a
thoughtful and lasting piece of artwork for clients, and special occasions.
The Commission Process
A focused initial discussion to establish the client’s exact requirements, including the intended purpose, preferred composition, and any specific details or emphasis within the property or landscape. The aim is to ensure the final work is fully aligned with the client’s expectations from the outset.
Consultation
Reference Photographs
Professional photographs are provided by the client for use as the visual reference for the commission. These images form the foundation of the work and are selected for composition, clarity, and lighting, ensuring the strongest possible basis for the final painting.
Initial Sketches
Preliminary sketches are shared for review once the composition has been developed. This stage allows the client to provide feedback and request any refinements, ensuring the direction of the work aligns with their expectations before the final painting is undertaken.
The commission is created by hand in accordance with the client’s requirements, using the selected reference photography as its foundation. Focus is placed on proportion, detail, and atmosphere to ensure a considered interpretation of the property or landscape.
Artwork Production
Presentation & Delivery
Once complete, the artwork is carefully prepared for presentation. This may include framing and presentation options where appropriate, ensuring the piece is ready for gifting or display upon delivery. The final work is handled with care throughout, and delivered to the client.
Commission Formats
Each bespoke commission is painted in a format chosen to best suit the client and the artwork’s intended place within its new home. Commissions are supplied unframed as standard, with framing options available upon request.
Architectural pieces are rendered on heavyweight paper, with landscape works produced on canvas.
